For Arts Sake - Mother's Day A-board 2013.

Made this 1950's inspired a-board for Mother's Day coming up. I found this old card which the artwork is based upon and touched it up with a bit more colour and detail. However, making it as big as it is really compromised the detail, pixels galore. It was a shame I only discovered this at print but from this photo it perhaps isn't too bad for it's purpose. The font wasn't my first choice I'd like to add, the boss wanted something more cursive then the font I originally picked out (Gill Sans) and this seemed the only decent legible one. 

For Arts Sake - Valentines A-boards.

Here are the Valentines A-boards, one for the ladies, one for the gents. I went for a 1950's approach as this has been a solid trend for the past year, but I thought I'd link it to the upcoming Roy Lichtenstein exhibition at the Tate later this month, which naturally developed into a more Pop Art look. I think it works as a good link, style wise and gallery wise. Pretty happy with the hand drawn illustrations, done digitally but with a mouse rather than a tablet (didn't have one at the gallery). Wish I took more photos of the products and jazzed up the background a bit more, a solid effort but with more potential.
